DESCRIPTION:

Hexamine is white crystalline,which can be highly soluble in water and polar organic solvents.It is useful in the synthesis of other chemical compounds,like plastics,pharamaceuticals,rubber additives.It sublimes in vacuum at 280°C.

Hexamine can be used as a disinfectant for the urinary system. It has no antibacterial effect and is effective against Gram-negative bacteria. Its 20% solution can be used to treat underarm odor, sweaty feet, and ringworm. It is mixed with sodium hydroxide and sodium phenolate and can be used as a phosgene absorbent in gas masks. It can also be used as a reagent and chromatographic analysis reagent for measuring bismuth, indium, manganese, cobalt, thallium, platinum, magnesium, lithium, copper, uranium, beryllium, tellurium, bromide, iodide, and the like.
